This summer the record business has been very weird, there has been very few cds released during summer holiday, however once school begins, all popular singers will all be releasing their new albums. First up, we have the match between the female singers. In October, Stepfanie has invited Mayday for collaboration. In November, Elva has Leehom and in September, Jasmine (Fish) new song Silk Road is a collaboration of Mayday Ah Xin's lyrics, Leehom's composition, arrangement and production will be released. The three of them has been in the studio for 3 days and 3 nights recording this song.
Jasmine was due to release her new album in July, however it has been delayed as she insisted that if there are no good songs, she will not enter the recording studio. The song Silk Road is the last song in the album to be recorded. Since there are three talented composers and singers in the production of this song, the fussyness increases. Plus all three of them have tight schedules makes the production of this song even harder and they were this close to not recording the song in time.
Ah Xin has written 2 popular songs. When Ah Xin heard the song Leehom has written for Jasmine, he was determined to write the lyrics for the song.
Leehom has found time out of his busy schedule and came back to Taiwan to produce this song for Jasmine and Ah Xin finally completed the lyrics at the same time. When Leehom saw what Ah Xin has written, he immediately phoned Ah Xin and called him King of coolness. Although Ah Xin believes there is still room for improvement. The very next day,the three of them entered the studio and recorded the song to perfection well it took them 3 days and 3 nights. Jasmine claims that she has been a sweet torture.
Besides composing the song, Leehom was also in charge of the arrangement and the overall production of the song. He has even played the piano and strings for the song which shows how much he values perfection in this song. The mixing of this song was done in America by Mick Guzauski who has mixed songs for Mariah Carey and Britney Spears. Jasmine said with excitement that her life has been all worth it just being able to sing this song.
